Yes, I heat lamp will be excellent for your ball python. It’s a excellent thought.

Yes a heater in the room would make the ambient temp higher which will be excellent for the snake. Heat pad and heat lamps work as well. The heat pads and/or lamp might use up less electricity though so a heater might bring to somebody’s attention your bill a small. As long as the room is at the right temp you can use either one, just make sure your door stays closed at all time so heat doesn’t escape and let in cool air from the rest of the household.

What you should is place a heat pad at the underneath part of your tank to heat your reptile tank! Yes, you can use a heater in the room because of the temperature you should have closer to 80 to 85* f in the room into which you have the snake! You should be closer to 80 to85*f so that it doesn’t get a cold and can digest it’s food at the right temperature!

it might work out ok as long as you have a lot of light in the room so that the snake can have a day and night cycle. as long as you have an under tank heater that makes one side of the tank about 85 or so then you don’t need any extra heat in the room in view of the fact that the snake needs a warn side and cooler side of its tank in order to thermoregulate its temperature. of course the snake needs hide boxes on both sides of its tank.

Your heating bill is vacant to be outrageous if you place a real heater in the room. Not to mention you leave the heater on too long… you could kill him. But…. a heat lamp isn’t recommended for Balls…. They are very nocturnal…. unless is a RED bulb.– seeing how snakes don’t pick up red pigments well at all… But an under the tank heater is best… but don’t make it TOO hot… if your household is by now 77 degrees… you might want to stick the heater to the side of the tank. So the snake doesn’t burn up… Pythons are really stupid when it comes to heat… they’ll wrap themselves around a light bulb and die without knowing it.

    hope it helps.
